An interview with Kevin Atwater
“Known for his gentle indie-folk style mixed with some of the most disgustingly heart wrenching lyrics I’ve ever heard, Kevin Atwater first found fame with his song ‘Star Tripping’ going viral on TikTok in 2022. Since then, he has gone on to release the single ‘why did you invite me to your wedding’ with an accompanying short film, along with his first full length album ‘Achilles’ earlier this year, complete with music videos and a literary companion. He’s a very busy guy, clearly, and yet was lovely enough to make time to speak to me about his most recent album, along with his US tour and upcoming London shows in Hyde Park and Camden this summer”…

      In Conversation With Lizzy Cameron
“Earworm [ˈɪəwəːm]: noun; a catchy song or tune that runs continually through a person's mind. In other words, ‘Should we do it again?’ by Lizzy Cameron.
It is making its way up my 2025 Spotify Wrapped at an actually quite worrying level. It’s so good. I’ve said this before - I’m a broken record at this point. I’m a sucker for anything really vulnerable and real and just honest to a fault -so this song, basically. Lyrics always trump melody for me with what I’m listening to, so finding a songwriter like Cameron was so exciting for me. Currently exploring the push and pull between folk-indie and alternative pop, her music is evolving and growing in real time, and that’s exciting in and of itself.”…

Comparison, Patience, and Honesty: An Interview with Mori
“I’ve said this before, but if I could gatekeep one artist, it would be Mori. Only in her early 20s, she has already gotten 2 EPs under her belt, a dedicated fanbase of almost 45k followers on TikTok ,and a degree from Berklee College of Music - producing alumni such as Laufey, John Mayer, Adrianna Lenker, and Lizzy McAlpine. She can be found at @morilovesyou across most social media platforms.
As I am starting to feel is a growing theme with my favourite artists, Mori lives in the States meaning that we resorted to a zoom call featuring my very shouty mic and lovely green-tinged camera. I’m convincing myself it adds to the whole authentic interview style (please someone fix my laptop camera, I’m so serious). Despite my less than ideal tech, Mori was - and I’m going to sound like a broken record here - such a sweetheart and was such a pleasure to talk to. The interview had such a quick turnaround due to the imminent release of her new single on 11th July - proven by how I’m currently writing this piece on my lunch break at work - and she was so lovely to fit me in at such short notice.
Due to the nature of me not feeling like publishing a short novel, many of her questions have been slightly shortened, but I strongly strongly encourage you to listen to the full interview on Spotify at ‘Politics and Pop Princesses’. But, for now, here’s my conversation with Mori”…

      Brighton’s Islamophobic Demonstrations
“Apparent ‘leaked’ screenshots of far-right group chats reveal as many as 35 locations named as targets for anti-immigration riots planned to happen on Wednesday 7 August at 8pm. With messages such as “they won’t stop coming until you tell them” and “no more immigration” accompanying these texts. The Brighton office of Raj Rayan, a senior case worker who specialises in immigration, is named on the list. Rumours of a later protest happening on Friday 9th August outside the Crawley Holiday Inn, which currently houses asylum seekers, has also been gaining traction online”…
